General Responsibilities: The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing, operating, and staffing the common-use facilities and equipment at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (the Airport). The Assistant General Manager will plan, develop, implement, and oversee company initiatives and projects.
Major Responsibilities and Functions:
Interface with relevant governmental entities (Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection) to ensure the efficient processing of international passengers through Concourse E and F.
Maintain relations with the airlines operating from Concourse E and F and the Airport’s common-use facilities in order to ensure satisfaction with performance levels and standards.
Facilitate the accomplishment of airport projects on behalf of the City of Atlanta.
Coordinate with staff and vendors to meet DOA and City of Atlanta financial reporting requirements
Assist corporate financial team with budget management, development, and reporting.
Maintain and develop organizational culture, values, and reputation within the community and with all employees, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory, official, and governmental entities.
Provide advice, guidance, and direction to management staff toward their professional development. Evaluate the performance of direct reports, including preparation of the annual performance evaluation process as well as informal feedback
Lead meetings and implement initiatives handed down by the general manager.
Track key projects and present reports to the general manager.
Act is the point of contact for all internal and external compliance requirements.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
Take all reasonable and necessary precautions to ensure personal health and safety, as well as that of staff and any other person(s).
Administer TBI AM’s Environmental Safety and Health program and procedures.
Qualifications:
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Minimum of 8 years experience in business management, planning, and financial oversight. Aviation management. preferred.
University degree or the equivalent education/experience
Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.
Effective problem-solving and mediation skills.
Ability to gain general employee support for ideas in order to successfully implement projects and initiatives.
Proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others.

Physical Effort:
While performing the duties of the position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time throughout the course of daily activities. The employee is occasionally required to climb, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is required to work on a computer, in addition to doing paperwork.
Mental Effort:
The position involves encounters with members at every level of the organization, airline employees, vendors, subcontractors, and members of the public, and requires a sense of responsibility to provide a high level of service and accurate information. The position involves stress associated with responding to/solving problems. The position requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment, as well as a creative approach to formulating responses and making recommendations regarding changes in company policy and/or procedures, as required. Operations are dynamic and situations may require immediate attention. This position has high exposure to the public and requires a professional approach and demeanor under all conditions. Normal Working Hours:
The normal working hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, the Assistant General Manager will be available either by telephone or e-mail 24/7/365 for any issues related to TBI AM’s operations or service requests by the DOA.
