The Truckee Tahoe Airport District’s Operations/Maintenance Department seeks an individual for a full-time Operations and Maintenance Specialist. This position involves performing a variety of skilled maintenance tasks in support of the operations and maintenance of the District, including but not limited to skilled maintenance, repair, and fabrication tasks on airport buildings, hangars, grounds, and infrastructure. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and ground support machinery, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Perform welding, fabrication, and assembly of metal components for various airport projects. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections, identify potential issues, and recommend repairs or replacements. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inspections. Respond to maintenance emergencies, including facility or equipment failures, to minimize operational disruptions. Operate heavy equipment and, specifically, perform snow removal operations.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license with no uninsurable convictions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms. Work is performed in all climatic and lighting conditions inside and outside. Work is often performed in noisy and hazardous conditions near moving equipment and aircraft. Employees work with and near hazardous materials and fluids. Employees may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 60 pounds or more) during the workday. The position will work a four (4) ten (10) hour shift, which may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The work schedule and/or hours are subject to change as seasonal and/or air traffic demands fluctuate.
