Under general direction, provides managerial direction and supervision to subordinate supervisors and staff performing Operations, Safety and Security (OSS) Division duties, including Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) activities, for the Yampa Valley Regional Airport (YVRA); plans, organizes, trains, equips, directs staffs, and administers all aspects of airport operations, safety, and security; ensures safe, secure and efficient airport operations through planning and implementation of programs, processes and procedures developed in accordance with department policies as well as federal, state and local rules and regulations; ensures that airport personnel are trained and ready to respond to emergencies, disasters, and security threats; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited four-year collage or university with a degree in Aviation Management, Business, Public Administration or related field.
Experience:
Six years of progressively more responsible experience in aviation with oversight, budget, and management responsibilities.
Significant knowledge and experience working with FAA representatives under Part 139 or with a complex Part 121 airline, working knowledge or regulations Parts 1542 or 1544 and three to five years experience directly leading various work groups.
Licenses and Certificates
Ability to obtain FAA certification as an ARFF Firefighter
AAAE certification as an Accredited Airport Executive or Certified Member is a plus
A valid license to drive a vehicle in Colorado and a safe driving record is required at the time of appointment and throughout employment

Must be able to successfully complete a Federal Security Background Check to comply with TSA Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badging requirements.
Must provide verification of Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200 and 700 training upon appointment, or must obtain such training within six months of appointment.
