The Access and ID Manager oversees the daily operations of the Airport's Access and Identification Office, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, the Airport Security Program, and Commission policies. This role is responsible for issuing security badges, maintaining access control systems, managing employee parking credentials, and controlling keys and locks. The manager supervises ID application processing, fingerprinting, audits, and training documentation, while also maintaining databases and preparing reports. As the Associate Airport Security Coordinator, this position supports TSA compliance and collaborates closely with internal departments, airport tenants, and regulatory agencies. The manager also monitors system backups, maintains security records, and assists with surveillance camera oversight. In addition to day-to-day operations, the role includes process improvement, documentation, and participation in strategic projects and committees. This position plays a vital part in keeping the airport secure, organized, and compliant with evolving security directives.
Minimum 3 years of administrative or office management experience
Strong knowledge of federal airport security regulations (49 CFR Parts 1520, 1540, and 1542)
Advanced skills in database management and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and lead effectively
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Must meet TSA requirements for Trusted Agent and Alternate Airport Security Coordinator
Valid Virginia driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
FEMA IS training courses preferred (ICS-100, IS-700, IS-906, IS-907, IS-546.12)
