The Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission’s strategic initiatives by analyzing financial and operational data to drive business performance and revenue growth. Working closely with the Chief of Staff and other airport leaders, this position develops reports, dashboards, and recommendations to improve efficiency, optimize budgets, and enhance decision-making. The analyst evaluates business trends, monitors concessionaire and contract performance, and supports the development of RFPs and budget proposals. This role also helps document and implement IT-related projects, ensures alignment with airport objectives, and acts as an internal consultant on special projects. By researching industry trends and analyzing both internal and external data, the analyst contributes to long-term financial planning and strategy. This is a collaborative and impactful position for someone who enjoys turning data into insights and helping shape the airport’s success through performance-driven analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Revenue Management, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 5 years of experience in business planning, analytics, financial or performance analysis
Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Experience with project management and supporting IT/data initiatives
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Virginia driver’s license
Must meet TSA requirements for unescorted access to the Airport’s Secure Area
The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission, owner and operator of the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, was created through an act of the Virginia General Assembly in 1987. It is an independent subdivision of the state, financially independent and deriving none of its revenues from local taxes.The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport is governed by a seven-member Commission Board, with each member being appointed to a four-year term.
