The starting salary range for this position is $163,172.60 to $195,006.36 and includes an excellent benefits package.
The Cape Cod Gateway Airport Commission is seeking a strategic, forward thinking Airport Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and financially sound operation of Cape Cod Gateway Airport (HYA). Reporting to the Airport Commission, the Manager oversees a dynamic team and a wide network of aviation and non-aviation tenants. This is a visible and impactful leadership role that blends operational excellence, fiscal management, and public engagement to advance the Airport’s role in supporting regional quality of life and economic development. The Airport Manager is responsible for daily operations, regulatory compliance, capital improvement planning, fuel and lease management, and community relations. Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, public/ business administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years’ experience in airport or municipal operations, including 3+ in a supervisory role.
Cape Cod Gateway Airport (HYA), located in Hyannis,
Massachusetts, is a vital transportation hub for the Cape
Cod region. Owned by the Town of Barnstable and overseen
by the Cape Cod Gateway Airport Commission, the
airport supports both commercial and general aviation
services, with regular flights to Boston, New York,
Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. The airport
spans 639 acres and serves as a home base for a
diverse range of aviation operators, from charter and
corporate jets to private aircraft. Facilities include a modern
35,000-square-foot passenger terminal, an 85-foot FAA
air traffic control tower, robust parking areas, new ramps
and taxiways, a fuel farm, and a dedicated airport rescue
and firefighting unit.
