The Airport Operations Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the safety, security, and efficiency of airport operations across the airfield, terminal, and landside areas. The Airport Operations Specialist ensures safe, efficient airfield, terminal, and landside operations in compliance with FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 77 & 139), TSA 1542, and the Airport Certification Manual (ACM). Responsibilities include performing daily inspections, documenting and correcting discrepancies, issuing NOTAMs, and monitoring conditions during inclement weather. The role supports emergency and security plans, coordinates maintenance and contractor activities, and communicates with FAA, air carriers, tenants, and the public to maintain compliance and safety. This position requires the ability to operate snow removal and heavy equipment, perform preventive maintenance oversight, and adapt work hours to meet operational needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a related field, plus two years of aviation operations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Arkansas driver’s license and insurability to operate airport vehicles and equipment. Employees must notify Airport Operations Administration if arrested for DUI or if their license is revoked, suspended, or not renewed.

Must pass a security background check.
The airport is a drug-free workplace. This safety-sensitive position prohibits the use of marijuana at any time.
Work Schedule This position follows a 4-day workweek, with shifts from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (10 hours per day). Must be able to occasionally work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to emergency callouts during these times.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand (60%) and sit (40%).
Good physical condition; must lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
