The City of Boise is hiring an Airport Operations Supervisor at the Boise Airport—one of the fastest-growing regional airports in the Mountain West. This leadership role helps maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient airport environment by overseeing daily operations, supervising Airport Operations Specialists, and ensuring compliance with FAA and TSA regulations.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Bachelor’s degree in airport management, business, public administration or a related field and three years of experience in airport operations or administration, including demonstrated experience conducting FAR 139 airfield inspections and supervising employees, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Must complete movement area driver certification within 45 days of hire.
Knowledge of:
Airport and airline operations and security, theory, systems and design
Federal, state and local laws, operations and regulations regarding airport management
Policies and procedures related to the operations of a certified commercial airport
Basic aviation and airport control procedures sufficient to provide safe coordination of various areas of the airport and aircraft
Firearm use, pyrotechnics and animal traps
Computer usage including related software.
Ability to:
Prepare clear, accurate, concise and comprehensive oral and written reports
Prioritize work and relay information during emergencies
Make quick decisions and adopt and/or modify established practices and procedures to irregular operations
Accomplish multiple tasks accurately with frequent interruptions
Interpret regulations, policies and procedures
Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
Perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation.
Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training Four years of experience conducting FAA FAR 139 and TSA 1542 Compliance Inspections or experience as a pilot, crew member, flight dispatcher or military experience and two years in a supervisory role.
Advanced American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) training/credentials such as ACE (Airport Certified Employee) certificates or CM (Certified Member) and FEMA NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 Certification.
Licensing And Other Requirements
Valid state-issued driver's license.
Ability to utilize firearms and pyrotechnics.

Physical Efforts While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 100 pounds. Working Environment The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, in wet and humid conditions, areas of dust, odors, mist and gases or other airborne matter. Employees are exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards, work in/at heights and confined spaces. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Work includes protected exposure to chemicals. Employees will work in and around running aircraft and heavy equipment and outdoors during all weather conditions. This position works: varying shifts in a 24/7 operation, including holidays and weekends.
