Five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in aviation, emergency management, safety management, business administration, transportation or a related field, including supervisory experience, are required. Additional managerial experience in aviation, emergency management, safety management, business administration, transportation or a related field, including supervisory experience, may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification and such other procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by the federal law is a continuing condition of employment.

Recruitment Notes
Direct the daily operations of the Airport Operations Center (AOC). Responsible for overseeing daily airport operations, managing emergency responses, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Key duties include coordinating communication between the stakeholders and resolving operational disruptions. Supervise AOC staff, manage airport systems, and provide ongoing communication & coordination support to emergency and non-emergency operations in the field. Oversee the activation of the Airport Emergency Operations Center (AEOC); expand and implement policies and procedures for the AOC; direct various personnel matters.
