The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $175,000 with an excellent benefits package. This includes a 100% contribution to the Airport Wyoming State Retirement System as well as vehicle benefits. Relocation Assistance will be made available to the successful candidate.
The Cheyenne Regional Airport Board is seeking a Director of Aviation to provide strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the Cheyenne Regional Airport (CYS). The role oversees all airport functions, including airfield operations, facilities and maintenance, safety and security, planning and development, community engagement, and regulatory compliance. The Director also manages Legend Aero Serve, the Board-owned Fixed Base Operator (FBO), ensuring high service standards and sound business performance. This position serves as the primary advisor to the Airport Board and represents the airport to federal, state, local, military, and community stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field. Four years of experience at an air carrier airport or in aviation operations.
Cheyenne Regional Airport (CYS), also known
as Jerry Olson Field, is a public, towered airport
located in the center of Cheyenne, Laramie
County, Wyoming. It is owned by the Cheyenne
Regional Airport Board. Cheyenne Regional
Airport is also home to the Wyoming Air National
Guard. For the calendar year ending in 2024, CYS had over
27,076 enplanements and 52,647 operations. The airport
has 18 full-time and 2 part-time employees.
