The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Senior Airport Equipment Mechanic position. This recruitment may be used to hire for various areas within the Facilities division including, but not limited to, Baggage Handling System (BHS) and Airport Equipment Systems (AES). This position provides work direction and training of skilled and semi-skilled employees on a day-to-day basis and performs journey-level mechanical work throughout Harry Reid International Airport that supports the operation of the airport, which includes the maintenance and repair of highly complex luggage movement systems. Additionally, this position performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem diagnosis. The Senior Airport Equipment Mechanic for the BHS position has a concentration on the highly complex luggage movement system and will require the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and perform problem diagnosis of multiple different systems.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school (or equivalent), successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician, plant, HVAC or facility mechanic or a related trade, and three years of full-time skilled experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of building operating systems and facilities. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for an apprenticeship program on a year-for-year basis. Attendance at a recognized trade school is desirable.
