The Vice President of Public Safety is responsible for managing the 24/7/365 public safety functions of the airport, including the RDU Law Enforcement Department, the RDU Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Department, airport security officers, emergency operations, and the Airport Communications Center. Work is performed in accordance with established federal and state regulations, as well as ordinances, policies, and practices approved by the Authority Board and the President and CEO.
