San José Mineta International Airport (SJA) is recruiting for an Air Services Development Manager. Under the direction of the Director of Aviation or Deputy Director, this position leads the SJC's air services development program and is responsible for identifying, attracting, and expanding domestic and international passenger and air cargo services.
Key responsibilities include:
• Identifying and developing opportunities to expand domestic and international air service for Silicon Valley • Conducting quantitative analysis of air service markets • Developing business cases and route support strategies • Preparing and delivering professional air service presentations to domestic and international airline executives • Establishing and maintaining relationships with airline partners • Collaborating externally with City leadership, regional economic development organizations, and industry stakeholders • Collaborating internally with SJC divisions to support management • Providing expert guidance on aviation industry trends, economic factors, and regulatory considerations • Supporting implementation of economic development strategies

The final candidate’s qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in this classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay, which is included in the range below.
The Air Services Development Manager salary range is $152,850.10 - $240,318.26 annually.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Economics, Aviation Management, or a related field • Six (6) years of progressively responsible aviation experience in airline route planning and scheduling, revenue/yield management, or air service development at a medium or large hub airport
Acceptable Substitution Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Required Licensing
• Valid California driver’s license • Must meet Airport insurance carrier requirements
